Scientists track pregnancy drug levels to fight baby infections

NCT ID NCT05309928

Summary

This small, early study aimed to understand how a common antibiotic, amoxicillin, is processed by the body during pregnancy. Researchers measured drug levels in the blood of 13 healthy pregnant women to see how much medicine reaches the baby. The goal is to use this information to help develop better treatments to prevent syphilis from passing from mother to child.
