Amnion grafts may save nipples after mastectomy

NCT ID NCT06073808

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether placing a special amnion membrane graft under the nipple during mastectomy can reduce nipple death and improve healing. About 30 people having nipple-sparing mastectomy for gender affirmation or breast cancer prevention will take part. The graft is made from donated tissue and is already used for other wounds. The goal is to see if it helps nipples stay healthy and look better after surgery.
