Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a sustained-release ammonium chloride formula (with vitamin D) can reduce virus levels in adults with mild or moderate COVID-19 or influenza. 32 participants took either the active formula or a vitamin D-only control twice daily for 10 days. Researchers measured viral load changes and tracked symptoms, hospitalizations, and other outcomes to gather early evidence on this potential add-on treatment.
