Triple threat: new combo tackles resistant lung cancer
NCT ID NCT05601973
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase II trial tests whether adding two drugs (amivantamab and bevacizumab) to the targeted therapy lazertinib can shrink tumors in 60 people with advanced EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer whose disease progressed on a prior targeted therapy. The main goal is to see how many patients have their tumors shrink or disappear within 12 weeks. The study also tracks side effects and how long the benefit lasts, aiming to gather enough data to plan a larger phase III trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
amivantamab, lazertinib, and bevacizumab (drug combination)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced EGFR-mutant lung cancer whose disease has worsened despite taking a targeted therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial (60 people) with no control group, so results may not be definitive. The drug combination can cause side effects like high blood pressure, bleeding, or infusion reactions.
