New gel could help fight wound infections

Summary
This early-stage study tests a new liquid medicine called Amicidin-β, applied directly into infected wounds during surgery. About 44 adults with infected surgical or traumatic wounds will either get standard care alone or standard care plus Amicidin-β. The main goal is to check if the medicine is safe and easy for surgeons to use.
