Scientists map the eye to unlock secrets of fading night vision

NCT ID NCT04112667

Summary

This study aimed to understand the link between poor night vision and the early stages of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a common cause of vision loss in older adults. Researchers followed 556 participants, including older adults with and without early AMD and a younger comparison group, over three years. They used detailed eye scans and vision tests to create a map of how changes in the eye's structure affect a person's ability to see in the dark.
