First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study compares same-day outpatient stroke care to standard hospital care in 400 patients aged 60 or older who have had a mild stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA). The goal is to see if the outpatient approach is just as good at helping patients recover without major complications. Participants are randomly assigned to either receive care at an ambulatory stroke unit or be admitted to the hospital, and their recovery is tracked for 90 days.
