Common cough medicine tested for rare brain disease in kids

Summary
This study is testing whether high doses of Ambroxol, a medication commonly used for coughs, can help children with Gaucher Disease Type 3. Twelve children aged 3-18 will take the medication daily for 6 months, with an option to continue for another year. Researchers want to see if it's safe and if it improves movement problems and other symptoms of this rare genetic condition.
