Breakthrough trial aims to slow inherited Alzheimer's in its tracks

Summary
This study is testing whether a new drug, E2814, combined with an existing Alzheimer's medication (lecanemab), can slow down the progression of inherited Alzheimer's disease. It involves about 200 adults aged 18-80 who have a known genetic mutation that causes Alzheimer's and are near the expected age of symptom onset. Researchers will use brain scans and memory tests over several years to see if the treatment slows the spread of harmful proteins in the brain and delays cognitive decline.
