Researchers test impact of telling healthy seniors their Alzheimer's risk

NCT ID NCT04699786

Summary

This study examines how sharing personalized Alzheimer's disease risk estimates affects healthy older adults. Researchers gave 450 participants without memory problems a report estimating their 5-year risk of developing Alzheimer's dementia based on brain scans, blood tests, and genetics. The study measured how this information impacted participants' mood, thinking, healthcare decisions, and understanding of their results over time.
