Should you know your Alzheimer's risk? study tests emotional impact of brain scan results

NCT ID NCT04818255

Summary

This study explored how people with mild memory problems or early Alzheimer's disease understand and emotionally handle learning the results of their brain scans. Researchers educated 152 participants about brain proteins linked to Alzheimer's, then shared their personal scan results. The main goal was to see if people could make informed decisions about receiving this information and how it affected their feelings, stress levels, and outlook over six weeks.
