Could an Alzheimer's pill also strengthen bones?
NCT ID NCT06041789
Summary
This study is investigating whether a common Alzheimer's disease medication, donepezil, might also help improve bone health and reduce fracture risk in older adults. Researchers will measure changes in bone density and bone-related markers in the blood over 12 months in 45 participants with mild to moderate Alzheimer's. The goal is to understand if this medication could offer a dual benefit for brain and bone health.
