Summary
This study tested a program to help nursing home staff talk with Alzheimer's patients and their families about future medical care. The goal was to make sure patients' treatment wishes are known and followed, which could reduce stressful and unwanted hospital visits. Over 47,000 residents in nursing homes across the U.S. took part.
