First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking krill oil (a source of omega-3s) during alternate-day fasting helps adults with overweight or obesity lose fat while keeping muscle and strength. Fifty healthy adults followed an 8-week weight loss phase with alternate-day fasting, then an 8-week maintenance phase. Half took krill oil, half took a placebo. Researchers measured changes in body composition, muscle strength, and appetite-related hormones.
