Scientists hunt for ALS clues in Patients' skin
NCT ID NCT03984708
Summary
This study aimed to understand the metabolic changes in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) by comparing skin cells from patients and healthy volunteers. Researchers took small skin samples from 9 participants to grow cells and analyze their chemical makeup. The goal was to find a unique metabolic 'signature' in ALS that could guide future treatment strategies, not to test a new therapy.
