VA tests 'Brain-Spine Sync' to fight ALS hand weakness

NCT ID NCT06172621

Summary

This study is testing a new approach to help improve hand strength and function in people with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Researchers will use a combination of non-invasive magnetic brain stimulation and electrical spinal cord stimulation, tailored to each person, over a two-week period. They want to see if this stimulation, with or without hand exercises, can help strengthen the weakened nerve connections between the brain and hand muscles.
