Tiny, Battery-Free pacemaker tested in first human study

NCT ID NCT07461935

Summary

This early study aims to test the initial safety and performance of a new type of leadless pacemaker called the ALPS system in patients with a slow heart rate (bradycardia). Up to 10 participants will have the device implanted and will be followed for 24 months. The key innovation is that the pacemaker uses an energy harvester instead of a traditional battery, which could potentially last much longer.
