Summary
This study tested whether a supplement called alpha-lipoic acid could help critically ill patients with sepsis. Eighty adults with sepsis were randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo daily for seven days. Researchers measured organ function, inflammation, and recovery time to see if the supplement improved outcomes.
