First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether eating almonds can heal broken thigh and shin bones as well as high-dose vitamin D, but with fewer side effects and lower cost. About 136 adults with these fractures will take almonds, vitamin D, or both for up to 13 weeks. Researchers will check bone healing on X-rays and monitor for any side effects.
