Can a handful of almonds a day boost your flu shot?

NCT ID NCT05031663

Summary

This study tested whether eating almonds daily could improve the body's immune system and its response to the flu vaccine. Overweight middle-aged men and postmenopausal women ate almonds as a snack for 12 weeks before getting their flu shot, then continued for another 28 weeks. Researchers measured changes in immune cells, inflammation, and tracked cold and flu symptoms to see if the almonds made a difference.
