Blood pressure drug shows promise in reducing alcohol cravings

Summary

This study is testing whether doxazosin, a medication typically used for high blood pressure, can help people with alcohol use disorder drink less and have fewer cravings. Researchers will compare the medication against a placebo in 184 adults who want to reduce their alcohol use. Participants will take the medication or placebo for 16 weeks while tracking their drinking habits.
