Could a simple fluid change improve outcomes in major cancer surgery?

Summary
This study tests whether adding a concentrated form of albumin (a protein) to standard IV fluids during a major surgery for abdominal cancer can reduce complications after the operation. About 140 adults with cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen will be randomly assigned to receive either standard fluids or standard fluids plus albumin during their surgery. The main goal is to see if the albumin group has fewer or less severe complications in the first month after surgery.
