First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether a plant-based omega-3 supplement (ALA) can protect memory and brain health in older adults with mild cognitive impairment who carry the APOE4 gene, a major risk factor for Alzheimer's. Twenty participants will receive either the supplement or a placebo for 6 months. The goal is to see if ALA can improve thinking skills and strengthen the brain's protective barrier.
