First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether a natural omega-3 supplement called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) can help prevent memory decline in older adults who have mild memory problems and carry the APOE4 gene, which raises Alzheimer's risk. The supplement aims to improve brain blood vessel health and the blood-brain barrier. Twenty participants will take either ALA or a placebo for 6 months to see if it protects thinking skills.
