Can cleaner air at home help control COPD?
NCT ID NCT04252235
Summary
This study tested whether using HEPA air purifiers at home for a year could help adults with a specific type of COPD (eosinophilic COPD) breathe better and feel better. Researchers gave 178 participants either real air purifiers or fake ones that looked and sounded the same to see if the real devices made a difference. The goal was to find a simple, non-drug way to help manage this serious lung disease, which is worsened by air pollution.
