Smartwatches with AI could spot hidden heart condition

NCT ID NCT07291570

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study aims to see if artificial intelligence (AI) combined with data from consumer smartwatches can accurately detect and predict atrial fibrillation (AF), a common heart rhythm problem. Researchers will enroll 40 adults with AF or who have been treated for it. Participants will wear a smartwatch, and the AI will analyze the data to find patterns. The goal is to develop a non-invasive, continuous monitoring method that could replace more invasive or limited tests.
