Smartwatch AI could spot diabetes before you know it

NCT ID NCT05482958

Summary

This study aimed to see if data from a wrist-worn smartwatch, combined with medical records, could be used by artificial intelligence to find digital signs of type 2 diabetes. It involved 210 adults, some with diabetes and some without, who wore a special watch during two observation periods. The goal was to learn if patterns in the watch's sensor data could be linked to diabetes or blood sugar control, which could help with future detection and management.
