AI takes on breast cancer screening: could one radiologist do the work of two?
NCT ID NCT07075679
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two ways of reading mammograms for breast cancer screening. The standard method uses two radiologists to review each image. The new method uses one radiologist with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The goal is to see if the AI-assisted single reading is just as good at detecting cancer and reduces the need for follow-up tests. About 8,000 women aged 45-69 will take part.
