Summary

This study compares artificial intelligence analysis of dental photographs to standard clinical exams for detecting white spot lesions—early signs of tooth decay. Researchers will train AI models (YOLO and Mask-RCNN) on 329 labeled images from adult patients at Cairo University Dental Hospital. The goal is to see if AI can match the accuracy of experienced dentists in identifying and scoring these lesions.
