AI assistant aims to catch kidney injuries in the ER before they worsen

NCT ID NCT06840210

First seen Jan 06, 2026

Summary

This study is testing an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that helps emergency room doctors spot and manage acute kidney injury (AKI) earlier. Researchers will introduce the tool at three hospitals and track whether it improves care, such as catching kidney problems sooner and avoiding harmful medications. Up to 200,000 adult patients with a blood test for kidney function will be included. The goal is to see if the tool fits into busy ER workflows and leads to better health outcomes.
