AI may cut Alzheimer's scans in half, saving time and radiation
NCT ID NCT07431255
First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests a new AI method to generate one type of brain scan (FDG PET) from another (amyloid PET) using existing data from 35 Alzheimer's patients. If successful, future patients might need only one scan instead of two, reducing radiation, cost, and time. No new procedures are done—only anonymized data is analyzed.
