AI boosts skin diagnosis accuracy in small study
NCT ID NCT07428954
First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) device could help doctors more accurately diagnose 13 different skin conditions, from rashes to skin cancer. Sixteen doctors (10 general practitioners and 6 dermatologists) reviewed 29 skin images, first giving a diagnosis on their own, then seeing the AI's suggestions before making a final decision. The goal was to see if AI support improved diagnostic accuracy and helped doctors decide if a specialist referral was needed.
