NCT ID NCT05311046
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study will test a new AI-powered screening tool that uses biomarker data to help doctors recognize sepsis earlier in children arriving at the emergency room. Over 12,000 participants, including children with suspected sepsis and controls, will be enrolled. The goal is to improve early detection and enable more personalized treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a faster, more accurate way to spot sepsis in children, leading to earlier treatment and better outcomes.
What could go wrong
The trial hasn't started yet, and the tool's performance in real-world ER settings is unproven. It may not work as well across different hospitals or patient groups.
