AI nurse steps in: can a computer voice calm ICU patients better than a human?
NCT ID NCT07171944
Summary
This study aims to see if a structured orientation program delivered by an artificial intelligence (AI) system can help intensive care unit (ICU) patients more than the same program delivered by a human nurse. Researchers will compare the two approaches to see which one leads to more days without delirium, lower anxiety and depression, and a shorter stay in the ICU. The trial is a small pilot study with 10 participants to test the AI program before a larger study.
