AI vs. human eye: massive trial tests if computers can spot breast cancer better
NCT ID NCT06934239
Summary
This large study is testing whether an FDA-approved artificial intelligence (AI) tool helps radiologists do a better job when reading screening mammograms. It will involve 400,000 mammograms across six major US health systems. For each mammogram, a computer will randomly decide if the radiologist gets the AI's help or reads it alone, to see which method finds more cancers and causes fewer unnecessary callbacks.
