AI predicts your cancer risk: how do patients react?

NCT ID NCT07458425

Summary

This study aims to understand how patients feel and what they believe after an artificial intelligence (AI) tool tells them their personal risk of developing lung cancer in the next three years. Researchers at the University of Illinois will enroll up to 400 current or former heavy smokers who are eligible for lung cancer screening. The main goal is to measure changes in patients' reported stress, beliefs, and perceptions about their health and cancer screening after receiving their AI-calculated risk score.
