AI vs. radiologists: 150,000 women in landmark breast cancer screening trial

NCT ID NCT06032390

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether artificial intelligence (AI) can help detect breast cancer in mammograms as well as the current standard of two radiologists reading each scan. About 150,000 women in Norway's breast screening program will take part. The goal is to see if AI-assisted reading finds at least as many cancers as the usual double-reading method.
