AI could spare half of heart patients from risky, unnecessary procedures
NCT ID NCT06648239
Summary
This study is testing a new AI tool and care pathway designed to match patients with the most appropriate heart scan. For adults with suspected coronary artery disease, the goal is to safely direct more people to a less invasive, cheaper scan (CCTA) instead of automatically sending everyone for a standard invasive angiogram (ICA). The researchers hope this approach will reduce patient risk, lower healthcare costs, and shorten wait times for necessary procedures.
