AI scans old chest X-Rays to flag hidden heart risk

NCT ID NCT07355894

Summary

This large study will test if using artificial intelligence (AI) to check old chest CT scans for calcium buildup in heart arteries can help people get better cholesterol treatment. It will involve about 120,000 adults who have either known heart disease or significant calcium buildup and whose cholesterol is not well controlled. The goal is to see if notifying patients and their doctors about these AI findings leads to starting or adjusting cholesterol medication and improves cholesterol levels.
