Can your smartphone spot gum disease? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07164573
Summary
This study aims to see if easier methods—like taking photos with a smartphone, answering a questionnaire, or using dental X-rays—can accurately detect gum disease. It will compare these methods to a full dental exam, which is the current best way to check. Researchers will use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the photos and X-rays. The goal is to find simpler, faster ways to screen for gum problems in dental offices and communities.
