Smartphone AI aims to protect new moms from surgery infections

NCT ID NCT07438314

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) educational guide could help prevent wound infections in women after a cesarean section. 300 women who had a C-section were randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus the AI guide, which provided daily reminders and allowed them to send photos of their wound for review. Researchers followed participants for 30 days to see if the AI tool reduced infection rates.
