First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether an artificial intelligence app (IVENUS) can correctly classify early-stage chronic venous disease (like varicose veins and spider veins) from leg photos. Over 1,600 patients had their legs photographed, and the app's results were compared to those of experienced doctors. The goal was to see if the app is sensitive and specific enough to help with diagnosis.
