AI vs. doctors: the battle to spot broken bones

NCT ID NCT06130397

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help frontline clinicians like emergency doctors and nurses spot bone fractures on X-rays more accurately and quickly. Eighteen clinicians from different specialties each reviewed 500 X-ray images, first without and then with the AI's help. The goal was to see if the AI improved their diagnostic accuracy, confidence, and speed.
