AI scans lungs to predict survival in critical patients

NCT ID NCT07328997

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) tool could help doctors better manage Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a severe form of lung failure. The AI analyzed patients' chest CT scans and medical data to classify the disease's severity, predict the risk of death, and suggest treatment options. Researchers compared the AI's recommendations to the actual care decisions made by doctors to see if it could be a useful tool.
