AI face scan could spot hidden heart disease

NCT ID NCT07277686

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether an AI algorithm that analyzes facial images can effectively screen for coronary artery disease (CAD) in high-risk community adults (those with diabetes, high blood pressure, or over 65). About 1,392 participants will have their photo taken and then undergo a heart CT scan to see if the AI's risk prediction matches actual disease. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive method can detect CAD earlier than current approaches.
