First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether an AI software can help doctors better detect diabetic retinopathy, an eye disease caused by diabetes, in 340 adults with type 2 diabetes who have not been diagnosed with the condition before. Participants will either receive standard care or have their eye images analyzed by the AI tool. The goal is to see if the AI leads to more accurate referrals to eye specialists and earlier diagnosis.
