Scientists gather 1000 eye scans to train AI against blindness

Summary
This study aims to collect detailed pictures of the eyes from 1000 people, both with and without age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The goal is to create a diverse, high-quality image library that researchers can use to develop and test artificial intelligence (AI) screening tools. If successful, these tools could help doctors detect AMD earlier in primary care or eye doctor offices, potentially preventing vision loss.
