AI eye scan could catch diabetes damage before It's too late

NCT ID NCT07378891

Summary

This study is testing whether artificial intelligence (AI) software can reliably analyze pictures of the back of the eye to find early signs of diabetic retinopathy, a common diabetes complication that can lead to vision loss. Researchers are enrolling 100 adults with prediabetes or diabetes to take eye scans using two different camera types. The main goal is to see how well the AI can detect subtle retinal changes that might signal the start of eye disease.
