Heart test AI could warn of hidden liver damage

NCT ID NCT05782283

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 03, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) program could find early signs of serious liver scarring (cirrhosis) by analyzing routine electrocardiogram (ECG) heart tests. Researchers compared doctors who received AI alerts about possible liver disease to doctors using standard care. The goal was to see if the AI tool helped doctors detect liver problems earlier in adult patients getting ECGs for any reason.
