AI-Powered heart screening could catch silent killer in AF patients

NCT ID NCT07567508

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether using artificial intelligence (AI) on EKGs and special CT scans can help find a hidden heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis in people with atrial fibrillation (AF). About 500 adults with AF and certain warning signs will be split into two groups: one gets the extra AI/CT screening plus usual AF care, the other gets usual care alone. Researchers will compare how many cases of cardiac amyloidosis are found in each group over two years to see if the new screening method works better.
